To create a curtain wall door, first select the “Wall” tool from the “Create” panel. Then, click on the “Curtain Wall” button in the “Type Selector” dialog box.
Now, click on the “Pick Lines” button in the “Curtain Wall” dialog box. Select the lines that you want to use for your door opening, and then click on the “Finish” button.
Next, click on the “Region” button in the “Curtain Wall” dialog box. Select the region that you want to use for your door, and then click on the “Finish” button.
Finally, click on the “OK” button to close the “Curtain Wall” dialog box. Your curtain wall door is now complete!

How to Create a Curtain Wall Door in Revit

To create a curtain wall door in Revit, you’ll need to first create a curtain wall. To do this, go to the Insert tab and select Curtain Wall. Then, draw your curtain wall on the screen.
Once your curtain wall is created, you can add doors to it by going to the Door tool and selecting Curtain Wall Door. Then, click on the face of the curtain wall where you want the door to be located.
You can adjust the size of the door by clicking and dragging on the blue squares that appear on the edges of the door. When you’re finished, simply click on the green check mark to complete the process.
Placing the Curtain Wall Door
1. Begin by opening the Revit file in which you would like to place the curtain wall door.
2. In the project browser, expand the “Views” folder and double-click on the “Elevations” view to open it.
3. In the “Elevations” view, select the elevation marker for the floor on which you would like to place the curtain wall door.
4. With the elevation marker selected, click on the “Home” tab in the ribbon and then click on “Component” in the “Create” panel. In the “Components” dialogue box, select “Curtain Wall Door” from the list of available components and click on the “OK” button.
5. Place your mouse cursor at the top left corner of where you would like to place the curtain wall door and click once to place it.
6. With the door placed, click on the “Modify | Place Curtain Wall Door” tool in order to edit its properties. In the “Place Curtain Wall Door” dialogue box, set all of your desired parameters for the door (such as height, width, frame style, etc.) and then click on the “OK” button when you are finished.
7. Your curtain wall door should now be placed in your Revit model!
Adding the Door Frame
In Revit, start by going to the “Structure” tab. Then click “Wall” drop-down and select “Curtain Wall.” By default, Revit will create a 4′-0″ x 8′-0″ panel. With the “Curtain Wall” still selected, go to the “Type Properties” and click the button on the far right. In the Type Properties dialog box, name the Curtain Wall type and click “OK.”
Leaving the Type Properties dialog box open, go to the “Assembly” tab. In the Curtain Wall Type Properties dialog box, click “Assemble.” Click on the top left and top right of where you want your door to be placed then select “Finish Edit Mode.” This adds a door frame to your curtain wall.
Adding the Glass Panel
curtain wall door in Revit. The first step is toload the architectural family file which has the door family that we will be using.
To do this go to the “R” button in the top left corner and select “Load Family”.
Find the location of where you saved the architectural file and select “Open”.
Go to the “Family Types” dialogue box by selecting the small arrow next to the family type name or by going to ” Window” at the top of the screen and selecting “Type Properties”.
In the “Family Types” dialogue box, change the specifying option for Frame Thickness, Sill Height and Head Height to “User Specified”, this will allow us to change these dimensions later on.
Adding the Hardware
Before you can add the door hardware, you need to add the door panel to the curtain wall. To do this, go to the “Insert” menu and select “Doors.” In the “Doors” dialog box, select the type of door that you want to insert. For this example, we will use a “Single-Flush” door.
After you have selected the door type, click “OK” to insert the door into the curtain wall.
Next, you need to add the door hardware. To do this, go to the “Hardware” tab and click on the “Door Hardware” tool.
In the “Door Hardware” dialog box, select the type of hardware that you want to use. For this example, we will use a “Lever Handle.”
After you have selected the hardware, click “OK” to insert it into the door panel.
Finishing the Curtain Wall Door
After you have created the basic shape of the door, you will need to add a few finishing touches. First, add any panels or glass that will be going into the door. Next, add any trim or molding around the door. Finally, add handles and hardware to the door.
